WHAT KIND OF DOCTOR CAN DIAGNOSE EPILEPSY?
Most people will first see their primary care physician or ER physician after having a seizure. However, it may take going to see a neurologist or even an epileptologist (a neurologist with specialized training in epilepsy) before getting a comprehensive neurological assessment and specific epilepsy diagnosis.  Many people have never even heard of an epileptologist (or can pronounce it correctly J since it’s a doozy) but your local Epilepsy Foundation or the American Epilepsy Foundation can help anyone who thinks they or a loved one has epilepsy find a specialist in their area. Here’s a link the AES’s Find-a-Doctor resource:  http://www.aesnet.org/go/find-a-dr
Today’s recipe comes from our friends, James and Marla. They make a killer sangria! It’s perfect for a party and you might have a little fun by asking your friends to say “epileptologist” 3X’s fast after having a few glasses of it ;). Thanks, J and M!

JAMES AND MARLA’S SANGRIA
2 1/3 cups brandy
1 cup lemon juice
1 1/3 cups frozen minute maid lemonade concentrate
1 1/3 cups OJ no pulp
4 bottles red wine (dry red like malbec works well but also merlot or Pinot noir work too)
2 1/3 cups triple sec
4 sliced lemons
4 sliced oranges
4 sliced granny smith apples
1 1/3 cups white sugar
32 maraschino cherries
4-8 cups ginger ale or sprite (to taste, do last)

Mix everything but reserve a little (about 1/3 cup each) brandy, wine, OJ, sugar, ginger ale. Let soak with fruit in overnight. Adjust taste the next day.
